ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Question #1: What do I need to bring with me when I am admitted to the hospital?

Answer: A list of medications you are currently taking, medical information / history, medical insurance card, robe, slippers, toiletries, reading glasses (if you wish).
    • Please do not bring any small electrical appliances i.e. heating pad, curling iron, VCR, television.
    • Please do not bring valuables. Lakeside Hospital is not responsible for the loss of money, jewelry, or other personal belongings.
    • Cellular phones and lap top computers are permitted, but may be left unattended during your hospital stay, for example when you leave your room for tests.


Question #2: Am I allowed to eat or drink prior to my admission?

Answer: Depending on your treatment plan, you may be asked to forego eating or drinking after midnight. It is always best to discuss this with your physician.


Question #3: What should I know regarding financial arrangements concerning my hospital admission?

Question #6: What are the patient room accommodations at Lakeside Hospital?

Answer: All 15 beds are private, spacious, and comfortable. Each room is equipped with a television and bathroom.


Question #7: What if do not have medical insurance?

Question #8: Where do I park my automobile?

Answer: You may park in the front of the hospital or any open space.


Question #9: Should I bring my medications with me?

Answer: No, a list of medications with dosage and time interval is all we need.


Question #10: What time should I report to the hospital for admission?

Answer: Depending on your treatment, you will be notified when to arrive and where to go.


Question #11: Will I have lab work done prior to my hospital admission?

Answer: Our out patient Lab Department can accommodate pre-admission lab work at the discretion of your physician.


Question #12: Who do I call if I have a health or medical question?

Answer: During your hospital stay, you will be assigned to a primary care giver RN, who can answer your questions.


Question #13: How do I get a copy of my medical records?

Question #15: What accommodations are available for out of town patients or visitors?

Answer: We do not have sleeping quarters for out of town visitors. Depending on the circumstances, an overnight visitor is allowed to stay with the patient in the patient’s room.
